Damilola Olusegun
Country of origin:
Nigeria
As a visual artist, Damilola Olusegun works always with graphite and charcoal on pelican paper and sometimes strathmore bristol paper. Most times she is questioned why she doesn't work with colours, she develops interest in such medium but she feels a great connection with her art piece when she handles graphite and charcoal.
Through her artworks she is able to pass on messages without writing an essay. Her subject matter mostly deals with emotions and self discovery. She connects with her environment and situations around her vicinity before creating any art piece. And of course, she keeps her music close to herself while working which adds more to her inspiration.
