Showqaz Damola
Was born in Abeokuta North, Nigeria. Having grew up in a land so full of cultural heritage, has greatly influenced his love for African cultural Art. Naturally, he was drawn to artistic creativity by self taught attitude and his belief's in “LEARNING BY DOING”.
His full interest was cultivated during his teenage stage and further developed after his secondary education and which later served as partial source of funding, when he opted to take his higher education in Art at Yaba College Technology, Lagos, Nigeria.
Showqaz, is into part-time art teaching amid his full-time studio practice,
Hence, both practices had made him delved even more into commitment to experimental paintings which often led him to expressing his art through different mediums, materials and styles, depending on his feelings, thoughts or available materials at a particular point in time.
His unusual creativity that was born out of boldness, intense creativity and urging for African modern art is bound to open up many opportunities. He has participated in a number of solo and group exhibitions, and currently have my works in galleries and private collections home and abroad.
